We provide Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya handhelds at a low price. Iridium and Inmarsat rental satphones are only available in combination with airtime; the airtime SIM remains property of WorldSat and has to be returned by the end of the rental period.
If your mobile phone provider has a ‘roaming agreement‘ with Thuraya, you can simply use your mobile phone sim-card. Please do note that your mobile phone provider might charge a relatively high ‘per-minute-rate’ when making calls through the Thuraya network. Thus, if you solely use your satellite phone as a backup, this is a very economical solution.
For rental devices we require a € 100 security deposit and identification before shipping out. Please select the shipping date from Rotterdam and the latest date the equipment will be back with WorldSat with some allowance for postal service delays.
Iridium Go!
Iridium handhelds are the only phones with truly worldwide coverage (including the north- and south-pole). They also provide coverage in situations where other satellite providers fail, i.e. in the mountains.
The Iridium Go! gives you the possibility to use your smartphone as a satphone. It provides the same internet-connection as any other Iridium handheld (2.5 Kbps) – so it should be considered a satphone and not a modem / hotspot. The Iridium app installed on your smartphone provides you with basic e-mail, text, tracking, browsing (limited) and speech possibilities.
