We provide Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya handhelds at a low price. Iridium and Inmarsat rental satphones are only available in combination with airtime; the airtime SIM remains property of WorldSat and has to be returned by the end of the rental period.
If your mobile phone provider has a ‘roaming agreement‘ with Thuraya, you can simply use your mobile phone sim-card. Please do note that your mobile phone provider might charge a relatively high ‘per-minute-rate’ when making calls through the Thuraya network. Thus, if you solely use your satellite phone as a backup, this is a very economical solution.
For rental devices we require a € 100 security deposit and identification before shipping out. Please select the shipping date from Rotterdam and the latest date the equipment will be back with WorldSat with some allowance for postal service delays.
Inmarsat
Inmarsat provides near-global coverage: except on the north- and south-pole. The antenna is pointed towards the satellite (see map, satellite is located in the middle of each coloured ‘box’), so a line of sight to the satellite is required. Generally speaking Inmarsat works better if the satellite is higher up in the sky. Once a connection is established, it is very stable. Inmarsat airtime is economically priced.
For rental purposes we provide you with an Inmarsat iSatphone 2 or Inmarsat iPhone Pro.
iSatphone 2 comes with:
- EU-charger (international on request)
- Battery
For Inmarsat, please add airtime after you click ‘request reservation’.
