We provide specially configured fully-rugged Toughbooks for Satellite Internet and Maritime Navigation at a low price. For rental devices we require a security deposit and identification before shipping out. Please select the shipping date from Rotterdam and the latest date the equipment will be back with WorldSat with some allowance for postal service delays.
Satellite Internet
Satellite internet is charged per Megabyte (‘shared’ connection) or per minute (‘private’ connection – stream). Which is not particularly cheap. The most economical option is generally the ‘shared’ connection, thus it is important to keep your data-use to a minimum. For this purpose we provide you with:
- A no-nonsense reliable device
- Inmarsat LaunchPad pre-installed
- All background-activity (Windows Auto-Update, etc.) blocked and manageable through special software
- Optional: Your own WorldSat mail-address with the possibility to send plain text e-mail messages
Maritime Navigation
- Maritime route-planning and live navigation
- Up-do-date Vector and/or Raster charts – contact us about your travel plans
- 12v Toughbook travel charger included – for onboard charging
- Optional: AIS receiver to show nearby ships on screen and/or a connection to your boat’s AIS
- Optional: MOB AIS device – displays man over board location on Toughbook through AIS
